Spring Break

I spent spring break mostly taking care of myself -- reading, relaxing, and even finishing a few knitting projects.

I knocked out the Standing Rock Hat. Love the yarn, not crazy about the pattern. I prefer the Toft pom poms, but this one will do.

I also finished the Lotus Flower Beanie. Same comment as above. Meh.

I decided to Frog the Filigree scarf. I really love the pattern. Though I doubt I'd wear the scarf much, I like actually knitting it. I didn't like that I ran out of yarn. I have leftover elsebeth lavold Silky Wool from my Shadow Shawl. I probably have enough in the green to do the full scarf, so maybe I'll take it up again sometime.

Not sure what I want to focus on next. Maybe a sock or finish the eye pillows or masks. I'll add FO pics ASAP.

UFO Sightings

These are the projects already in progress. Ideally, I finish these first, but I have some stashed yarn and purchased patterns that might slide into play if I need a specific kind of pattern to work on.

1. Standing Rock Hat. Status: blocked. Needs a pom pom. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or frog it. I hate this pattern. Love this yarn. FINISHED

2. Lotus Flower Beanie. Status: About half finished. FINISHED

3. Apple Pie Socks in Pink. Status: Knitting both socks at the same time. I'm at the heel turn on one and almost to the heel flap on the other. I *think* I'll finish these. FROGGED

4. Apple Pie Socks in Ribbed Green. Status. Almost to heel turn on first sock. FROGGED

5. Danika Scarf. Status: About 1/4 done. Not sure if I want to keep going on this one. For Brooklyn.

6. Hexi Love. Status: All hexis knitted and ends weaved. Working on border and will need to weave ends for border.

7. Eye Pillows (2). Status: Both are knitted. Just need to sew a lining, fill, and sew shut.

8. Clown Man. Status: Head and body complete. Not sure if I'm going to keep or toss.

9. Face Mask (Purple). Status: Mask part knitted. Needs ties.

10. Face Mask (variegated teal). Status: Mask part knitted. Needs ties. FROGGED

11. Filigree Scarf FROGGED

12. Silk Camisole from Last Minute Knitted Gifts (started April 2021). Using linen from Patty's stash.

The knitting blog: intensions and rules

Angelika and I are knitting our way through our yarn stash and weaving a tale of our lives. See, we have an on-the-needles problem. With so many projects on the needles, we needled a way to challenge ourselves to finish each project (or finally frog the fucker). This blog will be a journey of closure and all the things that distract us from that closure.

Rule 1 of Knit Club: Don't talk about knit club.

Rule 2 of Knit Club: No new yarn purchases

[Except anything needed to finish a current project or anything purchased out-of-town.]

Rule 3 of Knit Club: Prioritize projects that are on-the-needles or that have an intended pattern.

Rule 4 of Knit Club: Once all prioritized projects have been finished or frogged, begin working through stash yarn.

Rule 5 of Knit Club: Knit at least one row/round per week.

Rule 6 of Knit Club: Write at least one blog post per week.

Rule 7 of Knit Club: Do the dance.
